VOORHEES, NJ - For the first time since 2003, the inline hockey community will be without the Philadelphia Growl. A number of factors led to the decision during the off-season, but the evil empire will remain dormant for the upcoming season. Growl GM Anthony Flynn commented, "I can't tell anyone what the future holds because factors change every day. I hope to bring the team back together when we are ready, but who knows what the players will want or what the managements situation will be come time we are ready. It's been a great six years and that is what I want to focus on right now."
During the team's final home weekend, Bill Katinsky scores on a snap shot after great work down low by teammates Matt McKeon and JD Davidson. The team would later beat the Fury in two straight games in the playoffs.
